The synthetic dream foundation "Behind the gates of horn and ivory" [24 Apr 2008|06:54pm]

The synthetic dream foundation has a new album, entitled "Behind the gates of horn and ivory" coming out at the end of this month. The sound clips on their site sound phenomenal. Anyone else had a chance to listen to the sample mp3s yet? I think this is going to be the best TSDF album yet.

Dracula in New Jersey! [18 Apr 2008|01:24am]

Hey ... Wondering if anyone like Dracula?

"High Tech High School’s Musical Theater Dept. is about to embark on
DRACULA: A Rock Opera, a new musical for the community."

We are very excited to be presenting a new musical based on the chilling Bram Stoker classic. This would be our 8th spring musical and the students are so excited to be putting it together in the last 7 months. Much rehearsal and planning has been underway with choreography, sets, costumes, lighting and good ol’ stage magic that will hopefully awe the audiences in a re-telling of the Bram Stoker classic.

This is director Alex Perez’s 9th year as director of the musical theater program.
“after 18 productions, stints Off-Broadway and overseas, you would think it would get easy. But every year is a brand new challenge with brand new students and the job only gets more exciting and there are always challenges that come our way.” “ People love to compare shows, but I see them as separate entities, a tattoo if you will, separate chapters and of course, we always choose material that is different and sets us apart from the normal high school musical choices.”

The students this year have been so focused and so commanding, that audiences truly need to see their work. This is why we are excited to add an extra weekend for the first time ever. Another first is that all the music is set to classic rock of the 70’s thru now..so it gives a little bit of something for everyone. And of course, another first is that we are doing a dramatic passionate love story. There is quite a lot of romance on stage and the students are truly working hard to make the love relationships involved captivating. Practicing kissing scenes and hunger for blood needs to be right, otherwise Dracula will not be believable. The students are willing and ready to make it happen.

DRACULA: A Rock Opera is also music directed by Rod Shepard with an all-student band that is stronger than ever. The HTHS Music Theater Dept. has been involved in the Papermill Rising Star Award Program for excellence in High School Musical Theater. In 6 years, they have been nominated 15 times and won 10 awards including Best Direction, Lead Actor and Actress, Lobby, Costumes, Hair and Makeup and Production all for different productions throughout the years. Recently they performed in Scotland over the past summer.

Forged from the fires of imagination... [06 Sep 2007|03:07pm]

This post is for anyone who is a fan of the legendary Frank Frazetta, one of the world's most influential fantasy and science fiction artists. You've probably seen his work everywhere, but most recently in the new comic, The Death Dealer...

Which is why we're here.

There is now a high quality, limited edition jewelry line based on the works of Frank Frazetta.

It's a lot of information, so I'm including it all under a cut.Collapse )

Radio Golgotha - News & Upcoming Events [02 Sep 2007|08:02pm]

It has been an incredible first month. We have had hundreds of unique listeners
tune in from as far away as Finland, Canada, Hong Kong and dozens from our home
base in Tampa, FL.  We are particularly happy to welcome out German visitors
which have made up almost 20% of our listenership. Now that we have stablized
some of the technical launch issues, we will continue to add to our library of albums
so that there will new music in rotation everyday including some smaller, but very
interesting regional talent.

We also have new sets from DJ Devious, Maus and DJ Xanthus set to premiere
next week. In the next few months, we'll continue this trend with the programming
shifting towards more Djs, more often. You'll hear club sets from England, Germany
and all over the US.

Thanks for your continuous support!!

New International Gothic Forum - www.goth.net.au [15 Aug 2007|09:46pm]

Hello Elfwood,

Thank you for letting me join your group.

I'm an admin at a new international gothic forum at www.goth.net.au and would like to invite you to join and promote your scene, get news on what is happening in other scenes around the world, and keep in contact with other goths.

If you have your own, local, active forum, let me know and I can put a link to it on our forum so that locals can use it to keep in contact with your scene, while still interacting with goths worldwide.  If you don't have your own local forum, I will be glad to create a subforum and appoint a local as the moderator.

New and dark art up on Elfwood [14 May 2007|06:56pm]

[ mood | accomplished ]

Is this community dead or just dormant? I was lucky enough to get some of my latest pieces up on elfwood that I think fit here. Because of their size, I'll just post links here.

Tonguey - a dark elf necromancer and her undead pet... thing. He's got quite a tongue.
Vaspain - vampire girl Maybe not as dark as some of my others, but I did like how she turned out.

I spent the last two weeks working on a redesign of my own website, and I think the viewers here might enjoy my main design (and newest) picture, even though it's not really fantasy enough to get into elfwood. (It's more horror, really.)

Storm Chasers [26 Aug 2006|11:08am]

This new piece was inspired by a watercolour piece I painted for my wife which was stolen in transit somewhere between New Jersey and Mexico, I reworked the theme of a dark elfin empress and her dragon companion, poised and ready to take flight on the lightening tendrils of an impending storm.

Entitled 'Storm Chasers' and Painted in oils on 16" x 20" canvas, the original is available as a Buy it Now, or as a $6 limited edition print of 20 from the following links:

Hey guys... [26 Jan 2006|02:17pm]

[ mood | creative ]

New here, thought I'd introduce myself. Been into various persuasions of the goth/pagan/alternative scene for as long as I can remember.

I've been doing goth/dark pagan art in many forms for about ten years, but I suck monumentally at most things tech oriented (a fact that my computer and scanner exploit daily much to my eternal angst), so it may take a little while for me to post pics of my stuff (I also have to get off my bum and join EW *groan* did I mention I'm also easily distracted and lazy LOL).

So, yeah, hi everyone :-)
